Movement Done Differently
Our approach is Different from traditional movement therapy. We seamlessly integrate multiple therapeutic modalities into a single comprehensive treatment session.
At The Healing Hangout, we treat your pain and inflammation while improving your strength, mobility, and coordination during your physical therapy appointment.
We combine the structural benefits of Pilates Reformer exercises with Myofascial Decompression technique, to address the tension patterns throughout the entire kinetic chain.
During your session, we may use wireless muscle stimulation technology to enhance your muscle activation, and neuromuscular reeducation. This unique approach allows for real time assessment and correction of movement patterns, ensuring optimal, bio, mechanical alignment as you perform each exercise.
Clinical Rehabilitation Pilates
A sophisticated intersection of Pilates movement principles and Evidenced Based Physiotherapy. All sessions are prescribed and progressed by an experienced STOTT Pilates trained Rehabilitation Physiotherapist. MFD and wireless muscle stimulation may be included in your session.
Myofascial Decompression MFD
Negative pressure technique used in conjunction with ACTIVE movement. MFD is based on assessing and correcting muscle inefficiencies. Interventions include neuromuscular reeducation exercise exercises on the REFOMER and other exercise equipment.
Manual Therapy
Hands on healing to reduce pain, improve joint movement and increase blood flow. It’s like having a highly skilled mechanic work on your body, moving parts, with a therapeutic effect. Longevity Programs
Longevity programs are your bodies foundation of youth plan! Think preventative maintenance meets performance optimization.
The vibe during your session will be safe and fun! This is an NOT “Pilates princess aesthetic“, geared towards all seniors and fitness levels.
Charlotte PT is a GLAD osteoarthritis and a BONEFIT osteoporosis certified Physio and uses these evidence space principles in her practice.
Exercise Rehabilitation
The benefit of ON-SITE exercise rehab is while home exercise programs are convenient, the reality is that most struggle with consistency, SAFE exercise form, and progression. At The Healing Hangout, Charlotte can assess your readiness for exercise progression.
The Pilates Reformer and additional equipment are used to rebuild your strength, mobility and coordination. During your session, we may use wireless muscle stimulation technology to enhance your muscles, activation, and neuromuscular reeducation.

Our Registered Physiotherapist
Charlotte Savela PT
Charlotte has completed extensive postgraduate training, including (not all) Active Release, Myofascial Decompression, Functional Movement Systems, and STOTT Pilates Rehabilitation.
Her treatments combine hands-on manual therapy techniques, and MFD with the Pilates reformer/equipment. She earned her Honours Degree in Physical Education, followed by a Bachelor Of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University.
Prior to becoming a physiotherapist charlotte was trained in athletic therapy at Lake superior State University while working as head student trainer for the US division one NCAA hockey champions. This experience solidified her passion for injury, prevention and rehab rehabilitation.
Beyond physiotherapy, charlotte is a certified group fitness and cycle instructor, bringing a dynamic movement based approach to her treatment plans. She strives to stay ahead of her field continuously, expanding her skills through postgraduate courses.
Education is a huge part of our practice. Charlotte believes when patients understand their bodies and their injuries they take an active role in their recovery.
